Dating Frustrations

Sometimes I find it beyond frustrating trying to date, hit on, or hook up with someone.  You never know who really might be interested, who is just playing games, and who is just looking for some ass and cares about nothing else.  There are days I feel that being bisexual makes it that much harder, because almost anyone who walks by could be potentially be something more.  There have been more days than I care to admit when I've wanted to say "Fuck it all!" and give up on relationships.  And then I go out again a couple of weeks later to start all over again, hoping that this time it'll be different.

Anyone else have similar problems?  Or good advice on how to overcome some of these problems?

Summer

Memorial Day is the unofficial start of summer in the U.S., and it seems like the summer heat and humidity has hit much of the country this weekend.  So, here's to summer!

Do You Label Yourself Like This?

If you thought sexuality, gender, and identity were pretty straightforward (no pun intended!), then check out this document thanks to gender outlaw Kate Bornstein.  185 identities and labels listed, and this certainly isn't the end either (P.S. Bisexual was number 1!).  I'll admit, I don't even know what some of them mean, but I'm glad Bornstein put this together to help us realize the world is all sorts of shades of grey and certainly not black and white only.

Do you prescribe to any of these identities?  Do you have others you would add?

X-Men Gay Marriage

I've never been a comic book geek, but I've always enjoyed the film adaptations and thumbing through copies while at a bookstore.  For a long-time, X-Men has always been my favorite comic book superhero series; I didn't know why for a long time, but I think my bisexuality and general nerdiness/social awkwardness played a major part.

Now X-Men is helping take comics to a new level by having two of their characters, who happen to be gay, marry.

I am very glad to see this.  Marvel Comics have always seemed to be rather progressive in the superhero comic world, and to the people in this interview via the Huffington Post, a gay marriage in the X-Men storyline just seems logical.  An interesting note: this marriage is made up of one X-Men (a.k.a. a superhero mutant) and a "normal" civilian human (a.k.a. boring and has no awesome powers).  Of course, it's not all fairytale, with some characters even boycotting the wedding.  We'll see what happens!

Celeb Friday: Marky Mark

I may have been a little young back in the days when Mark Wahlberg was known as "Marky Mark," but that doesn't mean he wasn't hot.
Great chest, hot set of abs, and showing off in one of my favorite designers?  How could I not love his campaigns for Calvin Klein?
Kate Moss topless wasn't a problem either.
Well, in my opinion, Mark's still got it after all these years.  Sure, he's seemed to put on a few pounds and perhaps isn't quite so chiseled, but how many 40 year olds do you know that look this good in such little clothing?
Apparently he still likes to grab his crotch, even though he's not wearing Calvins.

He's also removed his tatoos from his younger years.

He still has a hot woman by his side, although this time it's the one he married.
The proud father of four children with wife Rhea Durham, Mark regrets the stupid mistakes he made as a teenager growing up in Boston and credits his Catholic faith with turning his life around.

"It Could Happen To You"

Ever wonder what would happen to your partner if they died, especially if you are in a same-sex relationship and live where you can't legally marry? This is just one story that demonstrates the injustice.

Hot Boxer Amir Khan

Amir Khan is a British boxer of Pakistani heritage.
In addition to having a gorgeous face, he has a pretty hot bod and quite a successful career in the boxing world despite his young age.  He is the youngest British Olympic boxing medalist, having won silver at the 2004 Athens games.  He is also among the youngest British world champions, having won WBA Light Welterweight title at the age of 22 back in 2008.

Khan recently became engaged to  Faryal Makhdoom, at the Reebok Stadium on 29 January 2012. 1,000 friends and family were in attendance.

Obama On Marriage Equality

Everyone is talking about it, and so should I.  President Obama said today, for him personally, he believes same-sex couples should be allowed to marry.

This is certainly a significant statement concerning LGBTQ rights, especially coming from a sitting president.  Alas, I found it rather hollow at the same time.

This article from Gawker sums up many of my feelings.  Obama's statement comes within a week of Vice President Biden stating he supports marriage equality; Obama is up for reelection this year as well.  Also, why heavily support the end of Don't Ask, Don't Tell (DADT) and then have the Justice Department freeze up and refuse to comment on repealing the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA)?  Finally, he qualified his statement by saying it was his personal views, and not necessarily to be taken into the political arena (although anything a politician says is ultimately political).

What do you think?

Ridiculously Photogenic Guy

Memes have become pretty popular over the last couple of years.  Some are pretty stupid, and others are fucking hilarious.

Within the last month, this photo has become a very popular meme.
Dubbed "Ridiculously Photogenic Guy," he's cured cancer, impregnated women just by looking at them, and even made Rick Santorum support marriage equality.

Below are a couple of ones that fall into the bisexual/bicurious category.

Isn't that the truth?

High School Fantasies

Did you ever have fantasies about the men you went to high school with?  Friends, fellow students, teachers, coaches, etc.?  I know I did.  I also know for many high school sucked, but that doesn't mean fantasies didn't exist (For me, high school wasn't too bad when I was there, but having been to university, I've since realized I really hated high school).

Conner Habib wrote a post a today about his experience of high school fantasies.
Conner Habib
It's very honest and is a beautifully written story, even while being erotic.  Check it out, along with the rest of his blog.  You can also find him on Twitter.

Have your own high school fantasies?  Let me and/or Conner know about them!

Now Back To Some Porn

After some advocacy and ranting, I think it's time to feature something more fun again.
Pay no attention to the bottom in this photo (I doubt you were, but just in case haha).  The top is porn star Jason Williams a.k.a. Fuller.  I remember the first time I saw this pic and wished I was the lucky ass getting fucked.

Jason was never a big-time porn star, having only been filmed for Sean Cody as Fuller.  He now can be found over at Flirt4Free, where he webcams.

Luckily, there is also a section for a few recorded shows that everyone can watch for free.  My favorite is this one:

Jason Williams' Accidental Facial brought to you by Big Cam Tube

Jason's been shooting some big loads all along, as evidenced by this photo from his first shoot with Sean Cody:
Damn, how I wish I could fuck with this gorgeous man.

Introducing Kate Bornstein

This blog is focused on bisexuality, but any talk on sexuality and gender isn't complete without occasionally focusing on other identities.

Today I would like to honor one of the great voices for so many things: Kate Bornstein.  "Auntie Kate," as she's called by her fans, was born a man into a New Jersey Jewish family, later joined the Church of Scientology, was married and had a daughter, then came out as transgender, going through the painful and long process to become a woman, and now is a wonderful spokeswoman for "freaks" and "gender outlaws" everywhere.  You can read some of her thoughts and writings on her blog.

While she speaks most heavily for transgendered people, she also keeps the conversation interesting concerning gender and sexuality (reminding us constantly that everything comes in all sorts of shades of grey), continually calls on people to #stayalive and is a fierce advocate against suicide and bullying, especially for gender and sexuality.

A big reason I chose to honor Bornstein is because her latest book arrived on shelves todayA Queer And Pleasant Danger is a memoir about her vivacious life.  It certainly holds nothing back, as Bornstein is very straightfoward about everything and isn't afraid to talk about her life.  I once had the privilege of hearing her speak, and she remains positive and hopeful in spite of all the pain she's felt over the decades.

While I haven't read her memoir yet, I will and suggest you do too.  I also suggest you buy it at your favorite independent bookstore or at Barnes & Noble and support the people who are still working to provide quality service in selling books.  (Hope you don't mind the little rant against online corporations that are seeming to kill the physical bookstore, a place I hold dear to my heart.)

Once you've read the memoir, let me know your thoughts.  You can also let Bornstein know you're thoughts; I know she would love to hear from you.  In addition to her blog, you can find her on Twitter.

Cheers!
